We're finishing our stay in Fakarava. This is really the paradise you see in postcards. Lucky us, we could visit both sides of the island — north and south, the latter only accessible by boat.

Camping Tekopa Village
We stayed at Camping Tekopa Village Fakarava. The owners are an incredible local family who greeted us with fresh coconuts and made us feel like part of the family. Our camping ground was an amazing white sand beach where we were completely alone, and every night we could see the Milky Way!

Diving with Sharks
We continued our diving adventures. The diversity of fish and the number of sharks swimming around you are just unbelievable. We even saw hammerhead and tiger sharks! This time our dives were with Kaina Plongée Fakarava Diving Center. Thanks to Vincent, JC, and Loic for their advice, professionalism, and sharing their passion with us!

Pink Sand Islands and the South
During a day of diving in the south, we also visited pink sand islands. Don't expect real pink sand — we think it's more of a trick for tourists. But in any case, the place is amazing. Kilometers of sand, blue water, and palm trees. And you'll find nobody there!

Island Life

Unfortunately, Fakarava was our last island in French Polynesia. We think it was a really good start for our world trip, but staying longer wouldn't be good for our budget... It's really not easy to leave this place — so many things still to see.
