Arriving in Komodo
Mission accomplished! We met the dragons. But about everything from the beginning…
When we arrived to Labuan Bajo, Flores — the Indonesia city that is the center of the Komodo islands — for the first time in Indonesia we saw so many tourists and western cuisine restaurants. We will not complain about that, after weeks of eating rice, we couldn't say no to a pizza… Without any doubt, Komodo island are one of the most touristic places in Indonesia. Most of the people come here for the same reason as us — to dive and to see mysterious Komodo dragons.
The getting there was something though. Augustina was in the bus for Sape with a chicken next to her seat.

Diving with Uber Scuba
The first day in Komodo for us was with Uber Scuba Komodo. All day long underwater with 3 dives in a row! We were not surprised to hear Komodo islands are really impressive diving places in the world. One dive can be with millions of fishes and another one with majestic manta rays and enormous turtles circling all around you. A big THANKS for Kevin, our dive master who trained William for his Advanced diving course. Check out our photos which can say more than words.

Padar Island and the Dragons
Thus, we took an organized tour (first time in our world trip). It's not our favorite way to discover places, but it seems there is no other option if you want to see Komodo dragons. So, first of all we visited Padar island, where after a small hike we were rewarded by one of the most beautiful views of the region.

After that it was time to meet the dragons. In Komodo National Park you pay a (not so small) entrance fee and follow a local ranger through little jungle roads searching for the mystical beast. And we found them easily! They look like some lazy prehistorical creatures, but apparently if they want, they can run fast (up to 20 kilometers per hour). If you get bitten by the dragon there is no antidote. You directly get a dose of poison into your organism. Dragons don't hunt you. They calmly wait until the poison will do the job. So, during our visit we tried to keep our distance…

Bali Next
Now it's our time to rest. We are in Denpasar, Bali. After 2 months of travel and constant moving we came to a point when we started to be exhausted. So, we will stay put at least 4-5 days. We want to get our energy back, prepare ourselves to our future adventures and try to work on our blog (that we still didn't finished. Shame on us…).
