1. Who we are
Track The Footprints (trackthefootprints.com) is a personal travel blog run by Augustina and William. We document our 11-month backpacking journey through 18 countries (December 2017 – November 2018). This site is non-commercial and contains no advertising.

2. Data we collect
We collect minimal data to understand how visitors use our site:
- Analytics data — via Google Analytics 4 (anonymised page views, session duration, country of origin). No personally identifiable information is collected.
- Contact form — if you use our contact form, we receive your name, email and message. This data is used only to reply to you and is never sold or shared.
- Cookies — Google Analytics sets first-party cookies to distinguish sessions. See section 4.
We do not collect or store passwords, payment information, or sensitive personal data.
3. How we use your data
- To understand which content is most useful to our readers
- To improve site performance and navigation
- To respond to contact form messages
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making.
4. Cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 via Google Tag Manager. The following cookies may be set:

7. Data retention
Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months. Contact form messages are deleted within 12 months of last correspondence.

We may update this policy occasionally. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
