Time to catch up on our Facebook page! (Mountains were not so generous with the internet…).
After Nongriat, we had a full day to reach Guwahati (Assam) (the biggest city in North East India). We had 3 days to relax but William got fuc**** sick. He spent 3 hours in a hospital! Everything was fine after this… Oh yes, we also managed to get our permit for Arunachal Pradesh within a day :-)
The Motorbike Decision
We started to think about our next destinations and our planning. It's not easy there as transport is a challenge and this region of India is big. So… after hundreds of trains and buses, we decided it was a good option to travel differently! We decided to rent a motorbike to visit the North East of India :-)
Kaziranga: Last Days Before Monsoon
Our first destination was the famous Kaziranga National Park. It's a very big park and safari is the only way to visit one of the 4 parts. We were quite lucky as the park was closing for the rain season in the coming days. We had 2 hours to see the beauty of the nature, rhinoceros, wild buffalo, elephants, eagles and blue birds. Unfortunately, we didn't see tiger! You have to be very lucky for that :-)
Nameri: Glow-Worms and a Night in Our Tent
Then, we took the road to reach the Nameri National Park, on the way to Arunachal Pradesh. It's famous for bird watching but we just spent a night there. It was still nice. We saw a lot of glow-worms around our tent during the night.
